                      TAILLESS FOX

One day a fox who lived in a forest went to a near by village in search of food. He came to a field. Unfortunately it was caught into a trap which was kept by a farmer, to catch a rat which destroyed the grains. The fox suffered and struggle to come out of the trap. But it could not.

After a few minutes, a farmer came near the trap. He saw a fox inside it. To beat it he searched for  a stick. Ten steps behind him found a stick under a tree. He moved to take the stick. By that time, the fox struggle to escape. With the great difficulty its body came out of the trap, but its tail was caught into to the trap. When the farmer came near to the trap the fox tail cut and the fox ran away.

When it came back to the  forest, it stopped and saw it’s back tailless. He felt ashamed of it and thought how it is possible for it to live with its comrades. So, he lived alone in a barren house in the forest boundary.

Days rolled on. It felt very lonely and decided to go back to  its comrades.

The fox returned  back to its place and invite all the comrades at night to its cave for dinner.  All the foxes came to its cave.

The tailless fox welcomed the foxes and said “ Dear comrades! I feel very happy on your presences.  You all know very well that I was not in the forest for a month.  In that period  I went to   a lonely place. There I did meditation.  From my occult vision I understood that because of our tail we are losing our life. Some hunters hunt us for our beautiful fury tail. The hounds while hunting first catches out tail. So, the first enemy for our life is our tail. So, it is best to cut off our tail."

An old fox in that crowd stood and said, “ Dear child! I feel very happy on your suggestion. But I was unable to judge how you got this marvelous idea, please narrate us how and where you got this idea, after a dance.”

The tailless fox started to dance. While dancing it forgot about its tail and danced turning around. All its comrades noticed that he had no tail.  They all laughed and teased the fox.

The fox felt ashamed. So with heavy heart it went to the barren – house where it lived alone.
